Hi, I’m Carl Parkinson.
The woman writing isn’t me, she’s just holding my spot until I have a usable photo of myself…
It’s tricky to get images of myself when I’m behind the camera.
And relying on people to know how to take a good photo of me taking photos has so far been a fruitless endeavour.
How I got here.
After working a decade as a Principal Software Engineer for small online Occupational Health & Safety software providers, taking on way too much responsibility, and gradually feeling more of the monotony and lack in variety; I decided to resign.
I have owned and used cameras for a long time, you can see some of my more recent personal photography at ctparkinson.co.uk
Over time it became clear to me that the images I most enjoy taking are those that are of people doing their thing, honing their craft, and so I decided I can use that to try and elevate others that are in similar positions to where I was - where their work is essential but the results don’t communicate their effort.
I want to help companies show their talent, praise those with boots on the ground that are doing the hard work that makes their businesses successful.
I want to help you say “This is what I do.” and show everyone what you’re all about.
Even though the products I’ve created have saved lives & limbs, and saved businesses thousands each year in maintenance and compliance tasks, you have to take my word for it as I cannot show you my work, but I can show yours.
Though you can see my OHS work history on LinkedIn - connect with me there and be a part of this journey.
My Approach
What started as a hobby of photography, slowly figuring out where I like to put my camera, became a drive to do it with intent.
To take my camera to places where I can exhibit the effort and impact that other people are making.
I’m not here because I need to be, I know that what matters to me matters to others, and I have the ability to bring that to the surface.
I want to be here, this is what I wake up for.
Meaningful Interactions
The small conversation behind the curtain before you step out, the nerves you suppress; they show that you care about what you’re about to do.
Commanding Presence
Standing strong, facing the crowd; in your element.
This is your skill, this is what you do.
Praise and Admiration
The cheers and applause as you wrap up, a job well done, where people truly saw and heard you.
Cooling Down
The relief and weight off of your shoulders, enjoying the moments of satisfaction after delivering your best work.
